How to transfer: camcorder tape to DVD

I bought a Panasonic digital video camera model NV-DS65EN-S but had relied upon somebody to do the transfer from tape to DVD for me. Now that this person is no longer around, I need to learn how to do this transfer. Could I seek assistance from somebody out there? I possess an Acer laptop. Thank you very much.

There a larger number of USB to external video capture devices out there. Pick one that has the Windows logo on it to be sure of compatablity. They come with pretty good manuals and make the capture of video from a large cross section of video devices a snap. I’ve paired mine with some video editing and DVD burning software to transfer VHS-C tapes, along with 8mm movies and slides to DVD. So much simpler for viewing and making copies to send to friends and family.
