how to uninstall windows media player 11

i recenly tried to upgrade to windows player 11

it would not finish installing,I got this error message Original Error Code
Original Error Message

80070005
General access denied error

now my windows media player 10 will not work. i have tried to uninstall mp11 from add/remove programs several times, says it is removed but still shows on add/remove programs

Have you rebooted your computer after the uninstall?

Possible soultion for Windows Media Player 11 Access Denied Error:

From WM11 Error Log:
41.969: DoInstallation: Installing assemblies with source root path: d:\e26b68a2f6367d90fb6e13\

42.125: DoRegistryUpdates:UpdSpInstallFromInfSection Failed for ProductInstall.GlobalRegistryChanges.Install error: 0x5
42.125: INF_REGISTRY Failed
42.125: DoInstallation:DoRegistryUpdates failed
42.157: Access is denied.
42.157: wmp11 installation did not complete.

Select 'OK' to undo the changes that have been made.

You will need to read between the lines and substitute "Windows Medai Player 11" where the document refers to Windows XP SP2.
