How to Use Apple smartphone?

Hi, I have been given an Apple smartphone at work. However, i cannot use it, as even though i have the 4 digit code which “unlocks” it….it then asks me for my Apple account details, and i dont know how to get these? (I do know the phone number.)

Thanks, i have been to the Apple website, and clicked everything to do with support….nothing shows me how to get an Apple Account……i know my Apple phone number but thats it……i then licked for online support but it just bluecircles for ages.

Now been to Apple webchat and they say i need an Apple ID and password…it looks like i have to do this from the iphone, and cant do it from my laptop.

I believe that is how it has always been. You establish the account through the phone itself, but can maintain it through a desktop/laptop computer.
