Let me only answer the how-to question in your subject line, not the 2 or 3 other questions in your post.

After the upgrade to a newer version (such as 24H2 as update from 22H2) you have a period of 10 days to go back via Settings. The old files are kept in a folder called windows.old.

After that 10 days you have at least 4 options:
      1. Restore the c:-drive from the latest image backup you made.
      2. Reinstall Windows from the last recovery drive you made.
      3. Reinstall the Windows from an installation file you can download from Microsoft. However, it’s possible they already offer only the latest version). Then it helps if you downloaded it earlier.
      4. A ready made computer (not one that you build yourself) might have come with recovery options to go back to factory conditions. Read the user manual or contact the customer service of the maker.

      1. No.
      2. Nope.
      3. It didn’t.
      4. Insight. It’s Windows. I really haven’t seen that much change unless it was huge. Such as the old DOS based Windows 1.0 to ME, XP then Vista/7/8/10/11 and then Windows NT series.

Final insight. OS wars are dull and boring. Since many just use such to launch a browser or game, the OS is the least of our worry today.
