I just used Etcher last week and I allowed it to verify the media after it put it to one of my USB memory sticks.

But it is not Etcher's goal to verify the image file. We verify most image files with the MD5SUM. But you omitted what image so I can't look into how you do this with your exact image file.

As to the 1 failed device, I usually set that memory stick aside for more testing and pop in a fresh new stick.

Recovering broken drives

The official site for Etcher is https://www.balena.io/etcher/

I have had to replace broken drives before, but if the error was caused by a broken write, you can try the host-specific recovery instructions here first:
https://github.com/balena-io/etcher/blob/master/docs/USER-DOCUMENTATION.md#recovering-broken-drives

Hope it helps.
