I regularly come across websites with information that I’d like to keep.
Tutorials & other information can be hard to find when you need it & other information disappears over time so saving it onto your hard drive is ideal. This is also important when on a slow connection so that you don’t have to get it more than once.
I know there are programs that allow you to do this & I’ve tried a few but haven’t had a lot of success. I’ve looked for tutorials & even approached local computer training sources without any luck at all.
What I’d like to be able to do is save an off line copy on my hard drive which maintains the site linking to images etc but locally referenced. I’d also like to be able to edit it by paring away any unnecessary parts that have been downloaded. My preference is for open source or local information that can be looked at just using a browser. I’m using windows Xp & normally use Firefox as my browser.
It would be nice to learn how to save information that comes as animation or pop up windows too.
Thanks,
Brian.
