He was diagnosed in November of last year with “aggressive cancer of the jaw involving both gum and tongue; additionally, there may be metastatic involvement of a lymph node.” He has since completed a full course of radiation and chemotherapy which ended in January. Results of a recent scan not yet in. I’ll report as soon as I know anything.

The disappearance of so many I’ve come to know and love here is disheartening. Hence, I suppose, my absence of late. The friendships I’ve formed here are quite possibly the most meaningful of my life. I’ve learned a lot from so very many of you.
