Howto Move MBX M Exchange 2000

How can I move the folders and files stored on the M (mapped by Exchange) to another partition.
Our M does not have enough space anymore and we would like to use a bigger partition. We already move the *.edb and *.stm files but the contents of the M still resides on the old partition.
Can we move the contents by copying it to another drive e.g. F

As u mentioned, M: drive actually is the virtual drive created by Exchange Server 2000, so don't need be border about this virtual drive.

What u need to concern is the physical storage used to store exchange private and public stores,
becuase the free space display in M: drive was actually refer to the exchange data physical drive.

Please setup a testing environment to perform steps and perform full backup on production server are needed below:-

To perform move secure and safety way of moving exhcange private stores as below:-

1. creating additional Second Storage Group and located at new F: Drive.
2. Create the private and public stores inside the Second Storage Group and define the location properly.
3. To move the the private store or mailboxes, please open the User Computer And Active Directory, Select the user and right click, choose Exchange Task, Please Move MailBox and finally select your destination store.
4. After finish moving the private store, please perform an integraty check and offline defragementation on the existing store using eseutil.exe to increase the existing disk free space.
5. please repeat the steps above on private store only.
6. if have any doubt please refer to Microsoft Technet Library.
