HP 8500 printer nt 4 share crashes Win2k

by antiroyal . Updated 24 years, 8 months ago

We have an HP 8500DN networked printer which is setup to use an NT4sp6a share for client access – has worked fine for Win95/NTWS for some time.

Tried to setup same way in Win2k Pro – click on share – moaned about wrong driver though. Installed Win2k driver and added \\server\printer_share as port. Whenever I access this share (e.g. print or properties) Win2k crash with an exception error.

Direct IP printing works but isn’t that bad queue mangement compared to NT share ?

Tried to speak to HP – didn’t want to know…

Please help !

Thanks in advance.
