hi
only time Ive seen this was a shorted out motherboard.
hopefully something less serious for you - test the PSU if you have testing gear or try a substitute? make sure the ATX power lead is plugged into the board properly. is the wall socket/plugs/cable good ?
cheers

Pull out your battery

and unplug the unit. Wait a minute or 2. Plug in the unit without the battery. Does it start to boot?
If so, power it off, replace the battery, and try again. Does it boot?
If so, you are fixed, if not, replace the battery. Also try this site as there is a recall for some HP batteries, including some for the nx6110.

have you tried booting in safe mode?

have you tried replacing the battery/Power supply?

could also be hard drive or mobo

Id try the HP support forums and/or call tech support, that is afterall what you paid the big $$$ for...

OR

just google around a bit and see if you can just start eliminating possible causes one by one
