I have been round and round with HP on this issue. I have a HP color inkjet 1700 that works fine when printing locally, but from the network, it can’t print large graphics or large fonts. The server is NT4 SP6. HP says that it is a problem with NT4 or the network.
The HP preview window that comes up on the server does not show the large graphics, so that eliminates the printer itself.
I have tried changing the print processor to NT EMF and that did not help.
I have successfully used a Deskjet 550c driver and that works, but that driver does not support the large 11″x17″ paper. The HP tech said that since the 550 driver worked and that it sends a smaller file, that it is most likely a network/OS problem with the larger file sizes.
The network here is switched 100baseT.
Does anyone know of what TCP/IP settings to change on this or other settings to change?
I thought that I would try here 1st before opening up a M$ incident and have them tell me that it is an HP problem 🙁
