HP Laserjet 400 Pro Printing Alignment Problem

By gapenn ·
I am and have been an HP advocate for years. I was in the PC industry for over 20 years and have sold many many Laserjets. That is one reason why I own a few laserjets and a couple of PhotoSmarts.

Here is my dilemma: I have a 400 Pro dw on a wireless network and it have worked great so far. I have printed just over 7,000 pages since I purchased it. It has just started printing crooked horizontally across the pages both simplex and duplex. Here is what I've tried:
Checked the paper tray to be sure everything was straight and aligned.
Checked the paper itself to see if perhaps it may have been cut crooked. Stranger things have happened.
Check to make sure the toner cartridge was aligned straight.
Changed out the Toner cartridge to make sure it wasn't the problem.
Checked the lever in the back to make sure it was set to letter and not A4 where the printer is opened.
Did a Paper Clean.
Updated Firmware code.
I am stumped. I know this has happened to someone else and there is an easy fix. I have not been able to figure what that fix is. Can someone please help. I have a big job I use this particular printer for and it is beginning to become a concern.

Thank You,
Greg Penn
