HP P4S-LA Motherboard USB Pin Header Layout Not Normal

by lovetrip25 . Updated 14 years, 5 months ago

I have a HP / ASUS P4S-LA (Indiana) motherboard and what seems to me as an unusual USB front panel pin header setup. There are 2 rows and on each row the pins go like the illustration below…

[*][*][ ][*][*][*]
[*][*][ ][*][*][*]

2 pins then empty spot then 3 pins on each row. Seems to me that normal USB front panel cable connectors won’t work right on this layout… 4 pin / 5 pin. What I want to know is this… what are the volages (VCC, D-, D+, Grnd) for the pins on this board so I can try using a case where the indiviual USB wires are not banded together and not risk blowing the dern thing up from trial and error lol? I’ve already tried contacting HP chat and that was a pure joke… I knew more than they did lol And ASUS website doesn’t have anything on this particular board or pin layout that I can find. Any help would be appreciated!
