HP Pro 3400 Windows 8 anomaly

    Hi Everyone,
I have this problem with HP Pro 3400. I have about 50 of them and wanted to have the same OS configuration on all of them, so I configure one with windows 8 and installed all the requisite software and security policies and then clone the drive on all the other systems. The issue is this–when I boot the systems, almost all the systems boot to the log in screen and wait for me to choose the account to log in with. Some however log in automatically with the account without password and refuse to log out. I have formatted the drive and clone it again but still the same thing. When I put the drive in another system it performs as expected but not on the particular system it is supposed to reside. Any clues as to why this anomaly? Kindly help out guys. Thanks in advance.

The real issue here is what is different with the system Cloned Drive doesn’t work as expected in? Could be anything from IP Address to hardware that is used inside the unit and when you find out what the difference actually is that will most likely be the answer as to why this is happening.

Just an aside cloning the one drive will cause other issues with all systems having the same User Details and so on so networking them latter may cause you far more problems to get working as you want them. It’s always better to Slipstream a Install Disc with what you want and load the systems with that as it saves time in the Long Run.

Thank you Smeg for your reply, appreciated. However, the anomaly does not seem to be a hardware glitch because hardware glitch cannot change your desktop icons or refuse to log you out of an account. Besides, all the systems have the same specs and are not yet on the network.

I was thinking more of a Software issue

And the question is still what changes have been made as there is obviously something different
