    HP – Windows 7 upgrade

Is it worth upgrading the HP desktops we have or purchasing new ones with 7 Pro?

I have a bunch of HP 220MT desktop computers in the office running XP sp3.

The configs on these computers are: XP Pro sp3, 1 or 2GB RAM, 40GB HDD, Intel Celeron with a 2 or 2.4GHz processor. **These computers can only hold a max of 2GB RAM.

We have 1 with Pentium 4 chip, 2.8GHz processor.

I know the HDD have to be replaced with larger and all have to have RAM maxed at 2GB to meet minimum requrirements for Windows 7 Pro with XP Mode.

    Thank you for advice!!

Personally I would replace the systems

But only because of the Celerons which I find complete rubbish. Way to slow and limited for my liking and needs but here I suppose it all depends on what the computers are used to do.

However from my experience I find that 7 works best with at least 4 GIG of Ram and I only bother with the 64 Bit Version of 7 as the 32 Bit Version has the same limitations as XP and I find a waste of time.

So I suppose the question is can the Celerons run in 64 Bit if they can’t I would replace the computers.

      Just my opinion though.

      Col
