html email with personalized content

By rdisciascio ·
I would like to know how to set up an email that sends a personalized message that uses an html page as the content for the message window. An example would be an invitation that merges the individual's name within the content of the message window, contains animated gifs and sound.

I have received a message of this type but can't figure out how to make one. I also note that the one I received only works in MS Outlook. If I send it to my personal email account on Earthlink it only receives the text of the message and the images as attachments.

I know how to write "html" but don't know how to make it the content (Stationery) for the message off of my own network, nor do I know how to personalize the content window with names.

I appreciate any input.

I've used WorldMerge to do dozens of text and HTML emails with merged content. I won't say it is the best software, but it has worked for me so far. It sound like it will suit your needs fine too.
Sending HTML emails are a matter of changing the message header. Instructions on how to send HTML emails with WorldMerger are in the user guide.
Remember that you are sending a web page, not a site and you are not attaching the images along too. They will have to kept on a web server and your links to them must point to theier location on the web.
