HUMANS CAN'T be the only intelligent species in the universe!

By JADavis9 ·
Something has REALLY been on My Mind lately. And that is this: .... WE (humans) CAN'T be the only major living and thinking species in this HUGE universe! Think about this for a minute .... how long have human existed on Earth? Maybe 10's or 100's of 1,000s of years? Our current year numbering system has us only on year 2,012 which is only 2 thousand plus a few.
So, should ANYONE even think for ANY reason that we humans are the ONLY species that has developed on ANY planet in ANY solar system of planets orbiting stars in this HUGE galaxy or universe?
Our planet Earth has existed for MILLIONS of years and so have MILLIONS of other planets and stars and moons. So with my being a math oriented person, the odds that humans could be the only species anywhere that has developed as we have in just almost statistically impossible and therefore cannot be the case.
I'm not gonna waste any of my time calculating the odds. I don't think I need to!
There HAVE to be other species living in this galaxy/universe place that have been around for TONS of years longer than we have. With that in mind and based on the extreme technological advancement that us humans have figured out in the last 100 or so years, think about something here .... where will WE be regarding technology in 10,000 more years? 100,000 more? After 1,000,000 more?
Have I made my point yet in your brain? I'm not some weirded out UFO guy. I'm just talkin' science and the math of probabilities and statistics.

Sounds way too much like that Thread The Evolution Lie

So other than saying that the bit about 2K years is way out even the Intelligent Designer believers insist that people have been here 6K years and the sensible people say quite a bit longer.

The AU Aborigine are supposed to have been there for 40K years or there abouts.

So that makes the 2K + change stated look like it's way wrong.

I Think

by Darryl~ Moderator In reply to HUMANS CAN'T be the only ...

That I want some of those drugs

Then I would give the following opinion....

I believe that the life on what we call "Earth" is not the only "life" in what we refer to as the "Universe".

Food for thought.....

After observing the human species for a few years,

any extraterrestials would probably conclude that humans lack the intelligence to be
invited into membership in the intergalactic association of higher life forms.

that is true, we had many meetings about you funny looking animal like creatures, some members of the galactic security alliance even made a motion to have this planet sterilized. Nowhere in the universe do you find a more perverse and destructive specie than here. They fear that if you should ever get out into space it could mean the end of everything, Luckily your current technology can be compared to a dung-beetle rolling a ball of dung. Fortunately for you a decision is still pending regarding your sterilization, we are actually hoping you will save us the trouble by destroying yourselves, we have observed you have tremendous capacity for that. Good luck and may the odds be forever in your favour.

The reality however is that the Pandimensional Beings which you know of as White Mice where the only ones speaking up for your lot and even then as they stated it was only because they wanted the answer to the question of

Why is 42 the answer to Life, The Universe and Everything?

Once they had that answer or knew what the question actually meant they where more than happy to not only have the planet sterilized but totally destroyed and have the galactic security alliance do it for them as it saved them some money or more correctly it allowed the Magrathean

and did a modified Drake-Sagan equation including the GHZ torus. Conservative estimate was four to six civilizations in our galaxy. Of course the real question is "can we talk to each other?" Unfortunately magic 8-ball says "highly unlikely" based on distribution within the GHZ.

Brings back memories of astronomy lecture at UVa... Those were pre extra-solar planet days, so who knows? A message in a bottle might come floating by before I pass!

P.S. His question was "Do you believe in UFOs Dad?" My response was "Of course! I just don't believe they are extraterrestrial vehicles..."

Maybe this says it all.

Just remember that you're standing on a planet that's evolving
And revolving at nine hundred miles an hour,
That's orbiting at nineteen miles a second, so it's reckoned,
A sun that is the source of all our power.
The sun and you and me and all the stars that we can see
Are moving at a million miles a day
In an outer spiral arm, at forty thousand miles an hour,
Of the galaxy we call the 'Milky Way'.
Our galaxy itself contains a hundred billion stars.
It's a hundred thousand light years side to side.
It bulges in the middle, sixteen thousand light years thick,
But out by us, it's just three thousand light years wide.
We're thirty thousand light years from galactic central point.
We go 'round every two hundred million years,
And our galaxy is only one of millions of billions
In this amazing and expanding universe.

The universe itself keeps on expanding and expanding
In all of the directions it can whizz
As fast as it can go, at the speed of light, you know,
Twelve million miles a minute, and that's the fastest speed there is.
So remember, when you're feeling very small and insecure,
How amazingly unlikely is your birth,
And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space,
'Cause there's bugger all down here on Earth.
