So I just did this thing where I moved my giant .pst file from C: to D: drive, where there is more room. I opened Outlook and believed I was following prompts correctly to point it to the new location of the .pst file. Here are my problems, and they are major:
1. I now mysteriously have two “Outlook Today [Archive Folders]”s. I don’t need two — in fact, I don’t need ANY new ones, since I thought Outlook would just start up like normal when it saw the old .pst, albeit sitting on a diff. drive. Unfortunately, I’m not being allowed to delete either of these annoying new folders. Presumably because…
2. New incoming mail is now GOING TO BOTH OF THESE FOLDERS. Simultaneously, new mail is going to the inboxes of both of these folders. Um, I’m going to kill myself.
3. I did manage to “open” the .pst file, but it now shows up in Outlook UI as “Personal Folders.” I have to manually move incoming mail to that inbox, but what’s even more annoying is that I can’t seem to figure out how to even move my contacts from there up to one of the stupid “archive folders (which now appear to be the actual live folders that Outlook is using for everything).”
Please, please someone help. Do I need to reinstall Outlook??
Thanks very much,
