I can no longer save jpegs

I have noticed that after installing windows updates, I can no longer save pictures from the internet as jpegs, only as bitmaps. When I right click on the picture and pick “save as”, my only choice as far as file types is as an untitled bitmap eventhough I am trying to save a named jpeg. Why did this happen and can I fix it so I can save jpegs again?
