I cannot find any network connections on my Windows 7 Laptop

I recently used the LegacyUpdate utility on Windows 7 and after a few restarts, I cannot see any WIFI Connections on W7. This has been happening for quite some time but I was able to get it back, but this instance, I did lots of restarts on the Laptop, but it did not work this time. My laptop is an IBM ThinkPad Z60t, and has a Qualcomm Atheros PCI Express network card. It is running Windows 7 Professional with Service Pack 1 installed.

Given the age of this laptop and OS.

To figure this out I pull out my USB WiFi adapter and try that. At my brother’s insurance office with some 100 laptops we see WiFi card failures once in a while.
A new tech might lose days trying drivers and settings. I know to try another WiFi card or USB stick first. Also I know to boot up Linux off USB (no install, no learning Linux) to see if the WiFi hardware is good or bad.

I will try that.

Many laptops have a function key to enable or disable WiFi. Did you try that?
But, of course, it won’t help if it’s a hardware issue.
