My guess is that your laptop has a SATA drive and the appropriate drivers are not available on your XP OS disk.

Try changing your harddrive settings in BIOS to IDE,

After you install XP, install the SATA drivers and change the BIOS back.

Is because you have a SATA HD.

Go to the Makers of your NB Web Site and see if they have a SATA Driver for your NB and XP.

If they do download the SATA XP Driver and use a product like nLite to make a Slipstreamed Install Disc of XP.

You can download the free version of nLite from here to use

      http://www.nliteos.com/download.html

And look here for the full instructions for the use of nLite. There are several different languages so maybe there is one in your Native Language to make your life easier
