I need some Opinions

By deeda ·
I have a co-worker who has Windows XP on her machine along with Easy CD Creator 5 Platium. It isnt working correctly and I have loaded all the updates. She is able to burn data CDs, but when she tries to burn multiple data CDs, it will burn a few and then her computer will completely freeze up and will have to press the power button to restart it.
So I went and read some reviews on it and most people say not to use it with Windows XP cuz it is such a pain. So i thought that maybe the newer version Easy CD & DVD Creator 6.0 would be better, but I cant find as many review on that.
My question for all of you is do you prefer to use Easy CD & DVD Creator 6.0 or if you dont think this software is the way to go what software would work the best.
FYI --all we use it for is to burn data disk, if that makes any difference.

Thanks in advance!

With XP

by GuruOfDos In reply to I need some Opinions

I use Nero5.5 and NeroExpress. It works first time every time and has no issues with any 'flavour' of XP. Roxio CD Burning is included with XP but I have not yet managed to get it to work properly!

Anything but Roxio

by TheChas In reply to I need some Opinions

I myself have been happy with Easy CD Creator 3,4, and 5.

That said, I have no plans to purchase another Roxio product.

To put it mildly, their tech support SUCKS!

From what I am seeing, they are not selling Easy CD 6 at anywhere near the volume they hoped for.
They are already starting to offer some major discounts.

So, I would get nero, or one of the other CD recording packages.

What about RAM?

by maxwell edison In reply to I need some Opinions

I too have read unfavorable things about using that product on XP, but how about monitoring the system resources? You said it will burn one CD just fine, but it crashes on multiple CDs. How many is "multiple", 2,4,6, or more? How does the program use the system memory? Could adding more RAM possibly help?
