I want to set up a VPN

By Jeremy The IT Guy ·
I have Windows 2000 Server installed with a Cisco 1720 Router running IOS 12.1. I want to set up a VPN or any other remote access function to remotely administer and prepare for a disaster. Any ideas? Thanks, Jeremy

I want to set up a VPN

Jeremy,
I have a similar setup and VPN from any where with internet access. You can setup RRAS for VPN access thru the Wizard on your server, then on a W2K Pro workstation, make a new Network and Dial-up Connection and choose connect to Private network (VPN). Point to your server IP and you'll be connected. You must have the User account Dial-in access allowed. It works very well, you can access the entire network if its on the same subnet from your VPN connection. Good Luck!

I want to set up a VPN

I have tried that but get a problem that I have to have a separate connection for the VPN. What do I do? Install another NIC card? I am on a T1 here and would like to connect from home through a modem. Any ideas?
