IBM Sales & Support

By kstauffer ·
I work for a school district. One of our teachers recently dropped over $3,000. on an IBM Intellistation to be used for video editing. Unfortunately, I was not consulted before the purchase. The IBM salesman sold the teacher a computer with 5 IDE devices, 3 hard drives, a CDRW and DVD burner. The teacher was assured that this configuration would meet his needs. Obviously the above configuration isn't going to work, but support can't help me because nothing is broken and sales won't call me back. Any suggestions on how I can get this resolved?

Maybe 1-800-IBM-SERV can help?
Also, what is the problem with the system? Just curious.

Try using a IDE raid controller to run the drives.

That is what I finally ended up doing and IBM supplied the parts at no cost. It helps to talk to the sales director!
