Hey guys, I’ve been searching through Google for a solution to my dilemma and have yet to find anything that works for me.
I have an iBook G4 that I recently bought off my friend (who is one of those guys that like to hustle people), so I don’t really know where he got the iBook in the first place.
I can get into the laptop and everything, the problem is when I try to go to my Account Settings to try changing the admin name, etc.
The old user set his password, and since I don’t have the installation disc, I can’t reset the password like that.
I’ve tried booting into single-user mode, and doing the whole mess with /sbin/fsch to /sbin/mount -uw /, etc. Once I got to the /sbin/SystemStarter step, the processes failed to launch. So basically–that didn’t work with me.
Anybody have any other solutions to reset the password?
