    ICQ2000a

    Locked

    by foxy2_angel ·

I have Windows98SE and also icq2000a. I just started getting a invalid page fault error stating:ICQ caused an invalid page fault in
    module MSVCRT.DLL at 0247:78002f3e.
    Registers:

I think I am missing a file or it is corrupt. The file I believe may be corrupted is MSVCRT.dll, and I think someone has deliberatedly tried to send me a virus, or tried to corrupt my icq files. This person was annoying me there, and I placed him on my ignore list, and now it seems he is angry now. Can someone please help me to correct this error? So I may be able to resume my tech support within the site.
    Thanks

This sounds like a corrupt file, first you will want to run anti-virus to scan for any viruses.
Click Start-Programs- Accessories, click on System Information, click on tools and in the drop down menu select System File Checker and the system will be scan for corrupt or missing files,it will prompt you to insert disk.Follow the on screen instructions

Scan the sytem with anti virus, click Start-Programs-Accessories-System Information,in the menu bar click System File Checker and your system will be checked for missing or corrupt files, follow the on screen instructions.
Another option will be to use your emergency repair disk that was created at install.
First option you will need the operating system disk.Good Luck

Here area a couple different FAQ’s off the ICQ site that will help sort out your current problem.

      http://www.icq.com/faq/fullver.html
      http://www.icq.com/faq/crash.html

I would also note that ICQ2000a is a BETA!!!
This means they’re not done testing it yet.

If you need a specialist in ICQ problems, try looking one up here:
      http://boards.icq.com/cgi-bin/WebX?14@80.mTpCayxUAqv^1@.ee6df86

then page them by mailing a short message (no longer than 450 characters) to:
      theirICQnumber@pager.icq.com

where theirICQnumber is actually whatever their ICQ number is.

      good luck!
