AOL will probably identify it.

If you know someone who uses AOL, try sticking the modem in a computer with ISA slots and let them install their AOL account. AOL software seems to have a complete library of modems, and has never yet failed to identify any of the many modems, new and not so new, which I have used.

Errrr....

AOL won't identify Phonic Pro (internal ISA or external) properly, Dynamode DF series ISA modems, or any of the Compaq proprietary modems, Aztec Labs or MWave (IBM/MiroConnect) modems...

Just in case you were wondering, I use AOL for modem diagnostics meself, and it won't detect any of the above!!

Compaq Specific Modem

Ahh...this modem will NOT work properly in a non- Compaq machine! Trust me, I know this from bitter experience!
