IE 6 runtime error

By rsh613 ·
When launching IE6 I get the following dialogue box:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE

This applicatio has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

How can I resolve this error?

You diodn't mention OS so am assuming XP. (You should always mention OS & SP)

Personally I think MS is off the deep end on a lot of things. Hardly anyone has the knowledge to debug runtime errors, so I always turn off Error reporting on every new XP computer I set up. Mainly because so many web pages have runtime errors.
go to My computer\properties\advanced\error reporting and disable that mess.

I'm getting the same error. I tried to uninstall it. I couldn't. I tried to reinstallation, that didn't work either. I was getting error that a newer version was already installed on the computer. If anyone has a solution out there, please help. I use a software that only uses ie, bummber!
Thank you
