IE 8 zoom issue

By luv2bike2 ·
Has anyone ever come across this problem and if so, what did you do to correct the problem.

Windows XP, MS Updates up-to-date, IE 8.

Problem: While in IE 8 the view will zoom level will increase to 1000%. If you bring the view level back to 100% it will increase back to 1000%. I rebooted the computer to see if it would reset, however when I go back into IE 8 it will zoom back to 1000%. Any suggestions to correct this problem is greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Browser?

by Jellimonsta In reply to IE 8 zoom issue

Do you have Firefox, Chrome or any other browser that you can test with? You may just have some sticky keys (namely the ctrl and + keys). If the same behavior is not evident in any other browser, and only IE, you could go into the properties of IE (Tools, Internet Options) and go to the Advanced tab. Click the 'Reset' button for 'Reset Internet Explorer Settings'.

no other brower

by luv2bike2 In reply to Browser?

I do not want to install any other brower on this computer, the person who uses it has it set to the way she likes it and any changes will disrupt what she is use to. i will go in and reset the setting in tools to see what happens. the weird thing about this is it happened one day while i was on the computer, i rebooted the computer, and IE still had the zoom issue, i left the computer to work on something else, when i came back to the computer, IE was working fine. today it happened when the user was on it and after rebooting, i opened up IE and the issue was still present, I closed IE, then opened it up again and before the zoom could kick in, I did a google search, when google came up everything was fine and has been since than. Zoom would kick in if the arrow was in the web page area, if the arrow was at the top of IE where the address bar is or in the search box Zoom would not kick in.

Thanks,

Mouse wheel

Also make sure the mouse wheel does not have an issue as it can come into play for zoom too.
