IE launching wrong version of Acrobat

By TINK ·
I have Adobe Acrobat 4.05c installed and I have Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 installed. I am running Windows 2000 with Intenet Explorer 5.5. When I click on a PDF file within my browser, it launches Adobe Acrobat 4. How do I change that to launch Adobe Acrobat 5?

Log in as administrator to your win2k system. Double click 'My Computer'. Select TOOLS>Folder Options>File Types. From there scroll down till you find your PDF file. you can edit the properties of that file extension so that it will use AAR 5.0Best of luck

I would think that perhaps you did not uninstall Acrobat 4.05c, and the File Association is still pointing to 4.05c. Right-Click on a .pdf and go to properties, and on the line with opens with, click on change, scroll down to Reader 5.0, if it isn'tlisted click on other and locate it. That should do it.
