IE/Outlook Express 5 and SOCKS5

By cv_moonshadow ·
I have a Windows 98 machine connected to the internet through a SOCKS5 proxy on a Linux machine. I can't get IE/Outlook Express 5 to work with the proxy. The proxy itself is working, because I have been able to get ICQ and AIM to work with it. The only thing I've tried is entering the proxy server info into Internet Options. Which computer do I need to work with, and what is it that I need to change to get this working?

IE5 & OE5 will run under a proxy server you need to configure them. under the advance settings tab and in the network settings try setting them to Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
and the tcp/ip on the win98 box 90.0.0.2 and on the linux box 90.0.0.1 or use a program called sygate v3.11 that will set everything up for ya automaticly thats the program i use
it can be found @ http://www.sybergen.com
if ya need more help or info contact me.
