I am attempting to upgrade to IE6 from the IE6 beta version on win/ME. I get the error ?A previous installation has pending work requiring a reboot. I have restarted the PC multiple times. I received this error when I installed IE6 over IE5.5 as well but after rebooting several times I was successful with the IE6 beta over IE 5.5 install. Now I am not so lucky.My PC updates its configuration files every time I reboot. After multiple reboots I went to the Microsoft knowledge base and found an article that deals with my exact problem. Article # Q221863 I thought I had the problem licked at this point, but once again after following all the instructions no luck. I also tried to uninstall the beta from add/remove programs, but I only have the ability to add or repair because I must of deleted or never saved the uninstall files to save HD space. I know. I know. Swift move on my part, but I?m presently learning my lesson because of that blunder. I tried the add and repair options with out success. If anyone has any suggestions for me short of formatting I?m all ears. I appreciate you taking the time to read this long post and hope to hear from you.
