IE6 won't go to URL within a window

By Shanghai Sam ·
When I go to any site i.e. www.dallasnews.com and click the cars.com button. Normally this would open a new window within IE6 and go to that site. What's happening is the new window will open but it's transparent and the world swirls around with thebutterfly blinking. It doesn't go to the site cars.com. I have used the repair tool in Add/Remove option, went to previous IE 5.5 and the reinstalled IE6 and it didn't fix the problem. So...if anyone has the answer, I'd greatly appreciate it. I don't have this problem with any other browser.

IE6 won't go to URL within a window

I had this same problem on a user workstation running NT. I tried the Repair, and downgrading to IE5.5 also, all to no avail.
I got things working by making the users NT domain account (the account they always used to log into the workstation) a member of the machine's local Administrators group. So, if you are on NT/2000/XP try that.

hope this helps
