IE7 Crashes When Multiple Homepages are Set

By mraftice ·
Beginning on July 2nd, 2008 I noticed that when I have multiple home pages set to open in multiple tabs when IE7 starts that it immediately crashes. Does anyone know the cause of this or the fix.

Microsoft has Guided Help support

for IE7 crashes:

If I stumble upon the solution, I'll post back in this thread. As you probably know, Firefox v.3 now has a 20% market penetration (it's free), and tests have shown that it is significantly faster than IE-7:

That said, Firefox v.3 is crashable just like IE-7. If you wish to try it, you can download it from:

You do not need to uninstall IE-7 to run Firefox v.3, and it's possible to open both simultaneously without cross-interference. Firefox seamlessly imports all your IE-7 settings and Favorites. You can configure the toolbars to closely resemble the familiar IE-7 if you prefer.

I find that Firefox is faster for most websites (but not all), so I now use Firefox for ~95% of my web browsing.
