Well here’s my situation. I have an Active Directory driven multiuse win2k server. Its primary functions are file serving and exchange 2k mail distribution. Recently I began experiencing a problem when I try to rename a
virtual directory. Everytime, I rename a virtual
directory IIS freezes. Also, all publishing websites become inaccessable and IIS cannot be restarted unless I physically restart the box. This is a new and rather large problem for me. I am hoping someone else has experienced this and can provide me some guidance on where to look and rectify this issue.
I have considered uninstalling IIS and restoring a backup of the metabase, however, i am not sure of the ramifications of this process with Exchange 2k. As of now, I have been unsuccessful in finding any information on both this error and also whether or not when you remove
and reinstall IIS will it impact Exchange 2k.
Any assistance with my issue would be greatly appreciated.
