iis 7 configuration for deploying an asp.net 3.5 website

By mayatechrepublic ·
i have developed a asp.net website with c# scripting . The website runs fine when running from IDE(Visual Studio 200. When I tried to deploy the same website on IIS 7 running on my windows 7 professional 32 bit, I got errors
1.authorization failed during test settings.
2.captcha unable to load saying failed to load url.

I wonder what are the exact configurations for the website to run fine!

Without going into the details, the web service user has to run under a different security context; that's called impersonation..and that is disabled by default in Win7.

IIS 7 configuration ASP.NET

by Lena Weber In reply to iis 7 configuration for d ...

Hi mayatechrepublic :)
Regarding the first error

1.authorization failed during test settings.

There are some options: There may an issue accessing an ACLs-protected Windows object (i.e., a registry or file key). You should check the ACLs to make sure the ASP.NET identity and the identity with local and network resources access have read access at the least Check that the <allow> and <deny> elements are properly configured, and ensure that the defaultProvider is properly defined in the roleManager element and the role provider is configured.
Regarding the second error:
2.captcha unable to load saying failed to load url.

Check out this post or this post, they both contain some good information about implementing captchas in ASP.NET.
Hope this helped some, Lena
