Last week my exchange 2000 server stoped IIS service which made other services such as IMAP, POP3, Routing Group and SMTP stop. IN the system event log in win2k, SERVICE CONTROL MANAGER ISSUED 7031 LOGS related to the above stopped serives.after i start these services manually from service console of win2k successfully, they stopped again in several minutes. The 7031 logs appeared periodically.
i searched the issude in Microsoft site, it says that my server might be infected with RedCode whichcrashed IIS. At last i reinstalled the whole exchange server(formatting C:), and it ran ok with the new install for a week.
but yesterday the old problem of 7031 occured again, with almost the same symptom. i checked with both my antivirus softwareand the tool downloaded from MS site, no RedCode was found.
i don’t know how to deal with this trouble, and i dare not to reinstall the server since i am afaid of the problem’s reappearance even after a clean reinstall.
who can help to solve this annoying trouble?
