IIS OWA and multiple domains

By cwoodward ·
We have a domain called mydomain.com which allows email access thru OWA. We added a second domain called mydomainna.gov and also want OWA access. What is the easiest way to accomplish this? I would like to use host headers in IIS, but since we require SSL, I do not think this is possible. I am trying to avoid adding a second IP address, if possible. Any thoughts/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Exchange Organizations

by BFilmFan In reply to IIS OWA and multiple doma ...

When you say you added a domain, is the domain a peer of the same AD forest that is hosting mydomain.com?

You can only have one Exchange organization per forest, but you can send and recieve email for multiple email domains within an organization.

If all the domains are in the same forest, you should have the MX records pointed to the same SMTP gateway.

You should then add a recipents policy in Exchange for the hosted domain.

See the article at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123560(EXCHG.65).aspx for how to set this up for a front-end server.

I would also recommend that you get a copy of Exchange 24/7 that details a lot of these advanced concepts with well-written How To sections.
