im getting messages 2 times in inbox

Hi everyone out ther,

There is a serious problem in my computer. Im using outlook 2003 and everytime i get new message i get it 2 times. same message comes 2 times. any way to sort out this problem.

Sometimes this happens when your server is timing out in the middle of receiving a message, especially if it is a large message. Did you have this problem before you installed Outlook 2003? Are you using dial up or a fast connection??

I have had this problem many times, on many workstations, with outlook 98, and outlook2000. Although I could never find the cause, I was able to fix it by doing the following.

Completely deleting the account, and setting it up again. Then making sure I did not leave any messages on the server. ( advanced tab ) then I would also access that account via the ISP's web service and clear any emails there. ( when I had this problem it was always with an email provider, not with exchange ) Once I did all this the problem always went away.
