Hi all,

Im having a problem getting an image of winXP to boot. The image has been taken from a second HDD, second partition on that disk (an E:\). I then want to install it as a c.

So i restore the image to a second hard disk. (I have a C with win xp and a second formatted disk which i restore to). There are a few files which are not copied to the image so i have put them back into the disk. Files are: NTDETECT.COM, IO.SYS, NTLDR and BOOT.INI.

The boot process seems to go fine up until the last section when it should find the OS and start to load it. I think it is a matter of the boot file looking to the wrong place due to the location of the original image. Im not going to say the boot path as i have tried so many and i want to see what everyone elses ideas are.

Im using DriveImageXML to image, im on WinXP Pro SP2, if you have any more queries on my environment do not hessitate to mail me.

Please help with this i have a couple of projects approaching and i need this to work and i just cannot figure it out.

Thanks in advance.
