Incredimail; restoring files

By PrimaTech ·
I have been having difficulty helping a customer restore her Incredimail data. The Incredimail folder was burnt to CD and Windows was reloaded. She then downloaded the latest Incredimail and no matter what I do I cannot access the old data for her. Even renaming the data folder (and moving it)then copying the original data folder would not work. Tried renaming the old data folder and changing the registry to point to that folder resulted in Incredimail not starting correctly.
It would seem that the problem is that the data is saved in a different version of Incredimail than the one now installed and there is no backward compatibility. If this is so I think its rather slack.
Is there a way to solve this? (Now the hard drive is reformatted I don't know what the original version was or (even if I did) how to get hold of that version...if that is the problem.

One part of the problem may be that anything burned to a cd, automatically becomes "read-only." When your/she copied these data files back to the computer, you either of you make sure to right click on the file(s) --> Properties and uncheck the read-only attribute?

The second part of the problem may be that the two different versions are incompatible. I do not know the Incredimail program; but check to see if there's any kind of File --> Import that can be pointed to her old data files and see them as an older version but still import them.

I'll see if I can dig up a link on Incredimail.
