Hello! I have a quick question about instagram.

In following tab you can see other people activities what started following actually means?

What if the profile has a private account and you request to follow, will that still show as started following lets say 40 min ago. Does the amount minutes/days etc count depending on when you did actually request or as soon as its your request is accepted.

Started following means, someone has started following you. But if you have private account then it will show you the notification like “he/she has request you to follow”

In the context of a public account, Instagram won’t ask for any permission when any user wants to follow. In contrary to that, you will get a notification when it’s a private account. Your approval is mandatory for someone to follow you.
Isn’t it weird answering this question?
