Could anyone please help with a blow by blow description of how to enable a printer share on a Linux 6.2 standard install from a win 98 machine?

I’m not entirely clear on the question, but it sounds like you want to attach a printer to the Linux machine so you can print to it from the Win98 machine?

If so, there are a couple of different approaches. My favorite is to set up Samba on the Linux box so that printers look just like they would on an NT Server. The main part of the setup is in a self-documenting file called printer_driver.txt and you’ll make most of the configuration entries in /etc/smb.conf.

hi,
no es muy clara tu pregunta, pero si lo que quieres es imprimir desde win98 a linux, deberas instalar samba configurar el impresor compartido y crear el usuario de la pc de win98, luego activar el acceso a la PC con win98 en el archivo “hosts yhosts.lpd” en linux…
en windows solamente configura una impresora remoto y busca en la red la PC con linux y el nombre del impresor y conectalo…
alguna duda escribeme..
