Install s/ware as local admin.

By leonie_quinn ·
I'm gathering opinions from all on which method is most preferred for installing software. Installing as local administrator (and then copying profile over to the users) as opposed to installing as a user (with full admin rights) and then copying that profile over. Pros, and cons?!!

Are you installing over a network or from a cd.If you are installing from cd, it shouldn't really matter whether you are logged in as a user or administrator. However, if installing over a network, it might be important to have full administrative rights, in order to access certain files. I would suggest you log in as that user with full administrative rights, so that when the user logs in, they maintain the same profile. After the install is done, you can then give the user back his/her formerrights on the network.

cheers, sapinto
