I would like to learn more about installing OS and specific software from an unattended installation boot disk. I have some ideas but I am not sure if they are even possible.
I would like to be able to open a new PC from the box, put in a boot disk, and after the pc starts get a command prompt asking for the computer name and domain. Behind the scene, over a network, a fresh installation of Windows 2000 installs with specifc customizations as well as a few other specifc customized software titles. Currently, we are using Ghost over our network to install OS images, but we are looking to install a fresh OS on each PC.
How is all this accomplished? I know this possble. What are some ideas or insightful resources.
