Installation Of Network Crad On Red Hat

By teo ·
In the process of installing red hat linux 6.2, is there a way to select a particular network card driver such as NE2000 from a drop down menu ?

Thank you

Good Day!
I needn't select it ... just type this in the prompt:
1 - write the /etc/conf.modules file
such as
alias eth0 ne
or
alias eth0 ne2k-pci
depending on you card type
and then just type
modprobe eth0

Good Luck!

You could use netconf or linuxconf which allows you to select the kernel module to use. This should allow you to pick the network card type. If you are in X you may have some toubles (as you shouldnt be running x as root), but you can su to root in a terminal (not su -) as it should load the root ENV variable and allow you to run linuxconf and setup you network card.

Hope this helps,

Blake
