Installing Access 97 after Installing Office 2000

By n_k_goyal ·
First I have installed office 2000 it was working well
After that i renamed font file and MSAccess.Exe and Installed Access -97 on the same machine.

Office -2000 is working
But
Access 97 is not working.

It is giving one error of setup.mdw file is not on place.
After that i have copied that file to the same directory and started giving Out of memory error.

Please help me out.

Thanks & regards

You must install different versions of MS Office in Chronological order - earliest first. The installation will give you the option of retain previous versions or upgrade them. See Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 218861 for more details

I'm afraid that you will have to uninstall 2000 and access 97 and start again with 97.

I am successfully running Office 4.2, 97 and 2000 on the one PC quite happily.

Completely uninstall the two office packages you have on your PC. Start off by installing office 97 remame the default installation directory to office 97, then fisnish of the installation.Install office 2000, thus time do not change the installation directory name. Finish up the installation. Test the two applications. easy as that. No registry editing and deleting office keys and all the mess.
Good luck
