Installing Mandrake 8.0

By tRippin ·
Hi !
I need some advice here, I am currently running winME on the primary h.d which has left 1.89gb of space and the second h.d which has 2 partition which partition 1 is 883mb free the second is 2.53gb free .. i would like to install Mandrake.
and to create a dual boot, which drive shld i install on, and which h.d should the mandrake be sitting on ?
If installation should fail, will it affect my MBR? failure to boot up?
thanks..!

First, if you want to use that current setup, you best consult Mandrake's installation documentation and see about partition placement. However, I would _highly_ recommend keeping it simple by putting all of your Me data on one disk and all of your Linux data on a second. That way if your first hard drive crashes, you don't lose both OSes.

Besides, with your current install you don't have a lot of room for Linux. If you install most of the stuff off the CD, you're already talking 1.5Gb of data.
