Installing Off2000 on Win2000pro

By Borg7of9 ·
Can someone tell me the proper steps for installing Office2000 on a win2000 pro workstation. When I install it as the administrator, I have to re-install it as the user so that outlook will work, I am sure there must be a better way of doing this?

I will install office 2000 as administrator, upon completion, I run the outlook program (double click the icon) let it do its thing and then cancel it once it asks for the account info. I then have the user login and then I take over under his name and setup the mail account.
Good luck!

Outlook configuration is user dependent. Either you have access to the profile while logged on as administrator (and even this way it might not stay completely configured) or you have to configure it as a user.

You may also make sure the "Run As" service is running, then install Office as the administrator while logged on as the user using the "Run As" command fron the context menu.
