INTERNET ACCESS

By rak009 ·
Alright ....I woke up on a nice sunday morning wanting to check my e-mails and I turned on my PC ....and I saw I was already connected to the internet.I have a broadband connection but in order to get on the internet I need to connect using a username and password.I checked my connectivity and it was not connected using my own provider but was connected thr' some other provider.I know this for a fact that I have a class B ip using my own ISP .....but when I checked wth this connection it was class C(using website whatismyip.com).I run Windows Vista if that helps and sharing isnot enabled. Can anyone plz help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Assuming that it's something to do with the supposed wrong ISP I would suggest unplugging the Modem for 10 seconds or so allowing it to clear any issues and then plug it back into the power and allow it to reboot.

If it's still doing the same thing afterwords you need to check the setup of the Modem/Router or whatever it is you have.

Another Wireless Network

by JHarrsch In reply to INTERNET ACCESS

It sounds like you PC is connecting to another Wireless Router. Search for Wireless networks & set yours to always connect & remove automatically connect to any available network.
If Not....Are you using wireless or cables? Direct to ISP Modem or do you have your own Router between ISP Modem & PC?
